Best of luck with sorting things out!

I am one of those people hanging on for the iPhone 5 before upgrading my current phone. I have been looking for non jailbreak alternatives to Siri. Maybe that might make a feature for you to consider checking out for the show? The apps I have tried so far are Vlingo, Email ‘n Drive, Dragon Dictation, Dragon Search and Voice Actions. This last one has offered the closes to the Siri experience. Of course there are many other alternative apps out there.

Most weeks your Australian listener – my apologies to him as his name has just slipped my mind – contributes with reviews and comments that are always informative, well thought out and clearly expressed. Maybe he might be persuaded to become a part of the show on a more formal basis. Of course he may not wish to and there is the time difference to factor in but if it could be worked out it would help the show.

Let’s be honest Brian… through your Twitter, blog comments and iTunes feedback, you were calling me out. You were looking for a reaction. Well, you got it. I aired out our dirty laundry in the most honest way I could so that outsiders looking in aren’t confused about how things happened and why you’re acting the way you are. If people don’t want to listen to it, that’s fine.

I’ve got thick skin. I can take constructive criticism all day long. In fact, many others have given me that, and I reply in kind to them every week. Insults are a different matter. While I try to take the high road, I can’t just sit back and pretend those insults are just friendly criticisms. That is clearly not the case.

And finally, I am under no illusions about who I am or what the show is. I’m no professional radio host. Never said I was, never pretended to be. While I am sure some of the listeners have dropped off, the remaining ones seem more engaged. THIS is what I was aiming for, and I’m getting it done. I don’t do it the same way as you do, but that doesn’t mean I suck. If its not your cup of tea, then be man, wish me luck, and unsubscribe from the feed. You’re not doing anyone any favors by sticking around and being a thorn in my shoe. Let’s not forget I was the only person offering you 1 thin dime for the show. You should be appreciative, and stop trying to sabotage the show you just deserted.

Being the previous owner and host of the show, it’s only right to listen to the show under its new management to see how things are going. Based off of my previous experience with letting my projects go on over to someone else, I wasn’t expecting this show to go into any positive directions. So far, my thoughts have been confirmed.

First off, most people want to have a nice, professional, and calm show. Talking about liquor every week will quickly detract people from listening to the show. It’s /VERY/ unprofessional. How often do you hear people on professional podcasts talk about that sort of thing? The last time I checked, this was supposed to be an Apple/iPhone tech podcast, not a “let’s inject some talk about liquor here” show. Take your personal interests elsewhere and stay on-topic.

Next, they’re long. Yes, this episode was fairly short, but the others are very long. One thing that my previous listeners enjoyed were the somewhat short shows that I’d previously produced.

In regards to feedback, I always asked for it at the end of the shows. I don’t know if people weren’t listening to the entire show or not, but very rarely did I receive feedback. Because of this, we weren’t able to improve upon the show.

That’s it. I’m sure I can think of more material, but that can probably be saved for an actual episode.

Also, I agree with you, I don’t want a 3D display on the next iPhone. I think 3D displays are (currently) terrible on the eyes.

I think Apple needs to release every year to stay current with other manufactures.

I believe they will release a new iPhone this June.

UK – Blackberry (RIM) has shown rapid growth over the past year, and now hold second place in the smartphone market with 23.3% share, below Android on 37.4% but marginally higher than iOS on 22.0%.

USA – In BlackBerry’s historical stronghold it has lost market share with a drop from 32.5% in the 12 weeks to 13th June 2010 to 12.9% in the latest period. The unprecedented growth of Android is highlighted in the US market as it now holds a 55.1% of the market share.

Germany – Symbian remains the number 1 Smartphone platform, with a 30.5% market share, but this is down from 47.3% one year ago. Android has seen a steady increase in its share of the market, currently at 28.8%.

Italy – The Italian market is dominated by Symbian with a majority share of 49.8%. Apple’s iOS and Android are almost neck and neck with 16.7% and 17.2% market share respectively.

France – France has seen tremendous change over the last three months with Android leap frogging both iOS and Symbian to take lead the market with a 32.5% share.

Australia – In October last year iOS over took Symbian for the first time and currently has 29.9% of the market, with Android laying claim to only 29.7%.

After hearing about the 100 dollar off, I went ot my local Apple store. I live in Germany and here the 16GB model is now 374, if I remember correctly. It used to be 499 as well! So its more than 100 Euros off! I must add however, that this was a small Apple store type thing within a major mall, so it might be because of that, but the sales person had an Apple shirt on and everything….
